IMSA has made a significant change to the rules for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, reducing the minimum drive time for FIA Bronze-rated drivers in the GTD Pro category. This adjustment comes as a response to discussions between Kenny Habul and Scott Noble, who own and drive for 75 Express and Winward Racing, respectively. The new rule change means Bronze-rated drivers will now need to complete only three and a half hours of driving time, down from the previous four and a half hours, which was the same as required for LMP2 and GTD drivers. This reduction is a strategic move to maintain competitive balance within the four-driver GTD Pro configurations, ensuring a fair and exciting race for all participants. The change affects only two lineups: Habul's No. 75 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and Noble's No. 48 Winward Mercedes-AMG, both of which feature Bronze-rated drivers.
