League One & Two: Matchday Highlights and Analysis (2026)

Here's a thrilling round-up of the action from League One and Two, with a focus on some of the key moments and talking points from the day's matches. But here's where it gets controversial...

League One & Two LIVE: The Action Unfolds

1. Mansfield 0-0 Lincoln

The game is goalless at the break, with Lincoln dominating and Ivan Varfolomieiev having a couple of cracks, one blocked and one wide. Mansfield goalkeeper Liam Roberts has come up with a big save, saving from a Sonny Bradley header.

2. Harrogate 0-0 Bromley

Bromley are causing problems for Harrogate, with ex-Harrogate midfielder Paul Bolland noting on BBC Radio York that they don't give you a second of peace. The Ravens look confident, and it's no surprise given their top-of-the-league status.

3. Newport 0-0 Cambridge

The closest either side has come so far! Ben Knight shows clever feet for Cambridge to skip past his man and work a yard of space, but his shot just grazes the upright.

4. Bolton 0-0 Blackpool

Blackpool captain Fraser Horsfall is leading by example, but not in a good way. He's been cautioned for a foul and will need to watch his step for the rest of the afternoon.

5. League One Update

It's a goal fest in Greater Manchester as Stockport trail 2-1 at home to Wigan, with Joe Taylor getting a double. Luton lead relegation-threatened Burton 1-0 through Nahki Wells, and Northampton have fallen behind 1-0 against Leyton Orient with Dom Ballard giving Richie Wellens' side the lead. Peterborough have just gone 1-0 ahead against Exeter, through Patryk Sykut.

6. Newport 0-0 Cambridge (Substitution)

Not ideal for Newport as they're forced into a change inside the first 20 minutes. Thomas Davies has picked up a knock and cannot continue. He's replaced by Anthony Glennon.

7. Mansfield 0-0 Lincoln (Post-match)

Finally an effort on target and Mansfield goalkeeper Liam Roberts comes up with a big save. He does well to save from a Sonny Bradley header.

8. Harrogate 0-0 Bromley (Yellow Card)

Kyle Knoyle is back in the Mansfield side today and now he's in referee David Rock's notebook. The Stags man is carded for a foul on Ben House.

9. Bolton 0-0 Blackpool (Blackpool Need to be Tight at the Back)

Steve Thompson, former Blackpool assistant manager on BBC Radio Lancashire, advises that they need to try and frustrate Bolton. You want to take the game to Bolton but you can't be caught out on the counter-attack, as they are good at that. We need to be really tight at the back. We have already given away some unnecessary free kicks, we can't be doing that.

10. League One Update

There's been early drama as Joe Taylor gave Wigan the lead after two minutes against Stockport, only for Brad Hills to make it 1-1 three minutes later. Elsewhere, the rest of League One is goalless.

11. League Two Update

Bristol Rovers are off to a flying start as they take a 2-0 lead against Grimsby thanks to goals from Kofi Balmer and Joe Quigley. Iwan Morgan has given Shrewsbury a 1-0 lead against Accrington. Play-off chasing Salford are 1-0 up at Cheltenham after Jorge Grant scored on the six-minute mark. Oldham also lead Gillingham through Calum Kavanagh. Fixtures elsewhere remain goalless.

12. Newport 0-0 Cambridge (Mamadou Jobe's Mistake)

Mamadou Jobe makes a mistake for Cambridge to allow Courtney Baker-Richardson to drive in behind for Newport, but Jobe recovers well to chase back in and make a vital tackle. The U's are looking to at least climb above Swindon and into second this afternoon.

13. Harrogate 0-0 Bromley (Harrogate Need to Focus on Themselves)

All Harrogate can do is try and get the three points. They have to focus on themselves and try and not look at the other results, advises ex-Harrogate midfielder Paul Bolland on BBC Radio York. We have seen Harrogate this season go and beat the top teams and then struggle against the teams below them. You just never know with this side.

14. Question for the Audience

And this is the part most people miss... So, what do you think? Do you agree with the commentators' views? Or do you have a different perspective? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
