Remembering Angela McLaughlin: A Life Cherished (2026)

We are heartbroken to share the news of Angela McLaughlin's passing, a beloved member of our community. Angela, a resident of 39 Ballymagowan Avenue and previously of 5 Rathlin Gardens, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. May her soul find eternal peace.

Angela leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to Charlene, Eugene, Sean, Aoife, Caitlin, and Rhys, and a dear mother-in-law to Daniel, Dearbhaila, Kerry, Brendan, and Carrie. Her grandchildren, Chantelle, Ryan, Kacie, Kyle, Rian, Clodagh, Aoibheann, Beau, and Dara, will forever cherish the moments they shared with their loving granny. Angela was also a much-loved sister to Michael, Marian, Eileen, Jeanette, Carmel, Danny, John, Cathy, Denis, and Brian, and a dear sister-in-spirit to the late Collette.

Her family and friends will deeply mourn her loss, but they find solace in the love and support they have for each other during this difficult time. Angela's remains will be respectfully laid to rest at her late home, 39 Ballymagowan Avenue, from 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 15. The funeral procession will depart on Tuesday, February 17, at 9:15 am, heading towards St. Mary's Church, Creggan, for a Requiem Mass at 10 am. A cremation service will follow at 3:30 pm at Lakeland's Crematorium in Co. Cavan.

The wake house will be open to close friends and family from 10 pm until 11 am. For those unable to attend in person, Angela's Requiem Mass will be live-streamed via the link provided below. We kindly request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Foyle Hospice or Marie Curie, with details provided by the immediate family or Mr. Kieran Connor McClafferty Funeral Directors.

As we bid farewell to Angela, we find comfort in the words of St. Bernadette, who prays for her, and Our Lady of Lourdes, who intercedes on her behalf. May her memory be a blessing and a source of strength for all who knew and loved her.

For any inquiries, please contact Mr. Kieran Connor, McClafferty Funeral Directors, at 02871262823.

And this is the part most people miss... the impact of a life well-lived. Angela's passing reminds us of the importance of cherishing every moment and the power of love and community. It's a time to reflect on the beauty of life and the preciousness of human connections. So, let's honor Angela's memory by embracing each other and spreading love and kindness.

But here's where it gets controversial... in a world where we often focus on material possessions, how do we truly honor the memory of a loved one? Is it through lavish funeral displays or by supporting causes close to their heart? What are your thoughts on this? Share your reflections and let's have a meaningful discussion in the comments.
