SACRED REICH Welcomes Eduardo Baldo: What Fans Should Expect in 2026 (2026)

Thrash metal fans, get ready to bang your heads! Sacred Reich, the Arizona-based legends, have just welcomed a new drummer into their fold: Eduardo Baldo! This announcement marks a fresh chapter for the band, and it's got us all buzzing with anticipation.

On December 3, 2025, Sacred Reich officially announced the addition of Eduardo Baldo to their lineup. Baldo, who hails from Brazil and most recently played with the Los Angeles band Red Devil Vortex, already proved his mettle by drumming for Sacred Reich's European shows in November, alongside Hatebreed.

The band shared their excitement via social media, stating, "We would like to officially welcome our new drummer Eduardo Baldo to the band. Baldo played the recent shows in Europe with us and crushed it! He's a great dude and fit right in with us." They further expressed their enthusiasm for Baldo's unique style and energy, adding, "We are excited to move forward with Baldo behind the kit bringing his own style, enthusiasm and power. Welcome to Sacred Reich!"

And as if that wasn't enough good news, December 3rd was also Baldo's birthday! The band and fans alike sent out their birthday wishes.

Sacred Reich also revealed that they are putting the finishing touches on their new album, Into The Abyss, with plans for European shows in July and August of 2026.

But here's where it gets interesting: The band's previous drummer, Dave McClain, decided to move on, as he shared in a social media post in late October. He mentioned he would continue pursuing his musical endeavors, whether through touring, recording, teaching, or simply playing in his home studio.

McClain's departure was announced on October 20th, with Sacred Reich expressing their best wishes for his future and their excitement for this new era. McClain's history with the band is noteworthy: he was originally a member from 1991 to 1995, playing on the A Question EP (1991) and the albums Independent (1993) and Heal (1996) before joining Machine Head.

He rejoined Sacred Reich in December 2018, contributing to their first album in 23 years, Awakening, which was released in 2019 via Metal Blade Records. The album was produced by Arthur Rizk, who has worked with bands like Cavalera Conspiracy, Power Trip, and Code Orange.

McClain, now 60 years old, had previously left Machine Head in October 2018 after completing the Freaks & Zeroes Tour.

Awakening was described as a collection of blistering thrash, killer solos, and socially conscious lyrics. The album was engineered by John Aquilino and mastered by Maor Appelbaum.

Controversy & Comment Hooks: What do you think about the lineup changes? Are you excited about the new album, Into The Abyss? Let us know in the comments!
