The moment of respect was further emphasized when players from both teams lined up in the center circle for a minute of applause. The entire stadium joined in, paying tribute to Bonds' legacy. West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen then laid a shirt bearing Bonds' iconic number 4 in front of the Billy Bonds Stand, followed by another round of applause four minutes into the game.
